Evacuation Drills

A rehearsal of the emergency procedures in the form of an evacuation drill is essential to ensure that employees are familiar with the Emergency Plan.  The evacuation drills also offer the employer a chance to check that the emergency plan is effective, and offers Fire Wardens the chance to practice the skills learned during their training.  This can be carried out in conjunction with other services or as an individual event.

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires that that evacuation drills be carried out periodically in a variety of realistic situations, with a recommendation that drills take place twice per year.

Our drills are carried out by currently serving ex Fire Safety Officers, who will brief staff prior to the drill, monitor the drill, brief fire wardens after the drill, and provide a written report of findings and recommendations.
